Dealing with Dyslexia in the Workplace

This webinar was delivered to mark National Dyslexia Awareness Week 2014.

There are lots of different adjustments that someone with dyslexia can make to help them at work. This webinar includes practical tips based on our work with people in the workplace including solutions such as:
- text to speech
- speech to text
- audio note takers
- coloured overlays
- keyboard settings
- keyboards with black keys with white letters
- mind mapping
- reminder systems

The webinar was delivered in association with Hands Free Computing. It is NOT a technical webinar but will be of interest to HR Directors, IT managers, disability advisers and friends and families of anyone with dyslexia interested in how to confidently and competently provide reasonable adjustments.

Employers have a legal obligation to provide effective reasonable adjustments for disabled people. This is not only the law, it is good practice to ensure that every employee is able to meet their full potential.

AbilityNet's specialist team provides hundreds of workplace assessments every month and our free resources explain how technology can remove barriers for people with all kinds of disabilities.
