About the role:

Do you share our vision of a world where people of all ages and abilities are able to use digital technology to achieve their goals? We are seeking an individual to join our charity as Accessibility Director.

The Accessibility Director is a key appointment within AbilityNet. We’re looking for someone who shares our vision for an accessible digital world. Someone with the commercial, technical and operational nous to lead the next stage of our development.

With offices in London, Warwick and Manchester we have 20 expert staff and a brilliant Sales team, an amazing roster of clients and a large network of User Testers able to test apps, websites and much more. The challenge now is to take our Accessibility Services to the next stage of growth.

Accessibility, inclusive design and UX are seen as vital parts of the digital landscape with more and more organisations acknowledging why they need to embed best practice at every stage of their development cycle. This is a rapidly changing environment and an exciting time to join AbilityNet - automated testing is now being augmented by artificial intelligence, we are having conversations with Alexa and inclusive design is appearing in our cars and homes in new ways.

More about the role:

We work with organisation to ensure their apps, websites and other digital services can be used by every customer on every platform. With our help people with disabilities can use their smartphones, computers and other technology to achieve their goals at home, at work and in education.

The job role has several key objectives including delivery of the revenue and surplus objectives for the charity's accessibility business, development and implementation of a strategy for the accessibility area of the charity and introduction of best-in-class processes and procedures to this part of the organisation.

The right candidate must be able to demonstrate success and experience together with a proven track record in a similar senior role. They will have a knowledge of and interest in accessibility and will have experience of project management, people management, process design, build and implementation.
