Lawrence is a solicitor and he qualified in 1986.  He joined Blake Lapthorn (in fact a firm that merged with BL in 2006) in 1988. He has extensive experience of corporate work, including exit strategies for owners/managers of SMEs, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning in corporate transactions, joint venture companies and fund raising and has specialised in the field of IT since 1990.

Lawrence is a liveryman and court assistant of the Information Technologists and is on that organisation's Charitable Operations and Charitable Development committees. He was formerly the chairman of the Information Technologists Charity Walk panel and, with trustee David Morriss, raised in excess of £100k for various charities over a number of years.   He is also a member of the Society for Computers and Law.
