Aileen Thompson has worked in communications and corporate affairs for over 30 years focussing on life sciences, pharmaceuticals, the arts, food and nutrition, fmcg, healthcare, personal finance and telecommunications.
She is passionate about leading teams to create inspiring stories that shape and deliver communications which make a positive difference to business and organisation performance.
She is Executive Director, Communications at the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry where she works with teams of scientists, policy experts and communicators to represent innovative research based pharmaceutical companies, large, medium and small leading an exciting new era of biosciences in the UK. She also led consumer, brand and enterprise media relations globally in Vodafone Group and in the UK. She was Director of Corporate Communications for Kellogg’s and has had various senior consulting roles in Burson-Marsteller and Weber Shandwick.
Aileen has been a Governor at Pangbourne Primary School in Berkshire. She plays an active role in the public relations industry as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, a Freeman of the Guild of Public Relations and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Healthcare Communications Association.
