Content providers seminars
For many people with a range of cognitive and learning disabilities, British Sign Language (BSL) users, and those for whom English is their second language, accessibility is not so much about good code or clear design but more about how easy it is to read and understand the content. This means writing good content is essential to making your website fully accessible.
Course aim
Our in-house seminars for content providers help you maximise the accessibility of the content you create for websites.
Duration
The course lasts for half a day – typically 10.00am to 1.00pm, or 2.00pm to 5.00pm
Audience
This course is intended specifically for web editors and content providers but is also suitable for anyone who needs to create content for a website.
Course content
The topics covered in our seminars include:
- how to help people with dyslexia, learning disabilities and other conditions understand your website
- research on how people read web pages and how this influences the way you should layout your pages
- best practice for writing and using ALT text effectively and consistently across your site
- optimising headings and link text for maximum impact and accessibility
- examples of both good and bad practice.
Practical exercises are used throughout these seminars.
