Movement on the Target Lawsuit in the US:
Court Rules Against Target in Web Site Accessibility Lawsuits
A judge rules that the retailer needs to stand trial for having a Web site that is insufficiently accessible.

A federal district court judge in California yesterday certified an NFB lawsuit against Target as class-action. The suit charges Target with violating federal and California statutes by failing and refusing to make its Target.com accessible to the blind.

Farewell to former equality commissions
The Disability Rights Commission has now been superseded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which has launched a new website. It’s still a bit buggy though, and I’d be interested in what others think of the choice of colours in the alternative stylesheets – can’t see anything for dyslexics there myself..

Spam weapon helps preserve books
Use CAPTCHA for good, not evil. A novel way to use the information gleaned by CAPTCHA codes – come up with by the CMU research team in Pittsburgh. Still doesn’t make them accessible though.

Scrap text resize widgets and teach people how to resize text
Almost echoing Joe Clark’s talk at @media, this blog talks about scrapping text resizing widgets. What is really interesting is the discussion that comes in at the comments section at the bottom. A lot of people agree with the author, but a fair number disagree, and their reasons are worth having a look at.
