Designing accessible icons - Part 1
Icons are well used within web applications. Because of their small size they are space efficient. Whilst it is common sense that the meaning of icons should be readily apparent (a printer icon for printing, the well known, but somewhat outdated, floppy disk, for saving files are both examples), the accessibility of these icons is a topic that should also be considered.
Here to the rescue, then, is Nomensa with an excellent 2 part article on designing accessible icons.

Yahoo accessibility blog is live
Yahoo have launched their accessibility blog, with articles from the Yahoo team on a range of accessibility themed topics.
Radian mouse driven application launcher
Whilst keyboard users have access to all manner of time saving keyboard shortcuts, mouse users don't have this luxury. Perhaps influenced by pc games, which manage to make many options available via a single mouse click through the use of context sensitive menus, the Radian application launcher aims to bring shortcuts to mouse users. Clicking the right mouse button displays a radial menu which can contain a large number of shortcuts and commands, all of which are within a quick mouse-drags distance.
Assistive Technologies for People with Epilepsy
Some interesting and useful suggestions on assistive technologies for people with epilepsy.
Android Accessibility
Google's open source OS is gathering momentum, installed on around 13% of smart phones. Here, then, is some draft documentation on the accessibility features available.
Drupal's Accessibility Statement
Good news for all users of the popular CMS Drupal; there is now an accessibility statement, stating what improvements have been made to help make it more accessible. Also linked from this page are resources for developers on creating accessible resources.
