Our customers
In 2005 we worked with 57 separate organisations, ranging from central government departments and global companies to charities and Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Many customers commissioned several services and returned for more throughout the year.
One of our many satisfied customers Chris Davies, Managing Editor ba.com, comments:
"AbilityNet are the UK's leading disability and IT charity and British Airways has benefited from their expertise on several projects including accessibility audits and in-house awareness training."

Recent Projects
In recent months we have been involved in some very significant projects, including the following:
EuroAccessibility Consortium (EAC)
The EAC has 24 European state members and represents Europe’s foremost organisations on web accessibility, harmonising and sharing best practice.
AbilityNet’s David Banes was recently elected chair of the EAC.
EU Benchmarking Project
Our cost-effectiveness has contributed to our growth and success over the last five years and has resulted in our winning major contracts, including the EU Benchmarking project commissioned by the Cabinet Office, Office of the e-Envoy. This project involved reviewing the status of web accessibility across the 25 nation states and auditing 1,300 websites. We delivered this significant project in cooperation with the RNIB and Dublin City University.
Project results were published on 25 November 2005 at the eGovernment meeting as part of the UK’s EU presidency.
My Web My Way

As part of our long-standing involvement with the BBC we recently launched a major new resource on bbc.co.uk.
bbc.co.uk/accessibility provides a wealth of information on customising Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems to make them easier to use for people with the broadest range of impairments. The site includes information on customising popular browsers such as IE, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera and Safari.
It also includes step-by-step guides and printable factsheets containing independent information on specialist hardware and software to help people access their computers and applications.
European FE Gateway
A Leonardo da Vinci funded project, this website launched in September 2006 is a major European portal to disability-related information for the further education sector.
It includes details of nation state legislation, sources of help and access technologies for students, teachers and institutions.
State of the eNation Reports
We publish a quarterly report on the state of web accessibility in different industry sectors. Websites reviewed so far have covered a wide range of sectors including airlines, banks, newspapers, supermarkets, retailers, premiership football clubs and political parties.
Our eNation page contains the latest eNation report. You can also see the State of the eNation archive for previous reports and press releases.
