We are looking for exceptional people for the following roles:
iT4C Project Administrator Required
Location: Information Technologists Company
Hours per day: 6-7 hours – 2 -3 days per week
Salary: Depending on Experience
Fixed term, 6 months, 2 -3 days per week - London or Brighton Based
Job Purpose
The iT4C team, based in the Information Technologists Hall, EC1A 7JN is currently seeking an administrator on a part time basis working 14 – 20 hours per week. The team is seeking an individual who can effectively and efficiently manage the communications and administration of the iT4C mentor programme and help with the planning and administration of 2 events. Work from home and flexible working may be considered but due to the time constraints of the project flexibility will be restricted.
Accountabilities
- Developing a database of projects, volunteers & mentors
- Manage email/telephone communication from participants
- planning of 2 seminars in March/April 2010
- to manage the online networks that are an important part of the project
- ensure the evaluation process is carried out • marketing communication and PR of the project
- general promotion of iT4C service to charities will be required in addition/alongside this project with a target of bringing in new members and new projects for volunteers. Target will be average of 2 registrations per week.
Candidate Knowledge
- Previous experience in an administrative role
- Experience of customer relationship management
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Some knowledge of the community/voluntary sector and a genuine commitment to equal opportunities is required.
- Confident with marketing/PR communications
Candidate Skills:
- Be able to communicate effectively and confidently with technical and non technical people from senior to junior levels
- organized and self motivated
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with little direction or supervision for extended periods of time
- Excellent telephone manner with the ability to handle callers confidently
- confident with (small) event management
- Comfortable using blogs, social networks and good level of general IT skills is vital
- Ability to work effectively in a small team
Person Specification:
- Confident individual who can represent iT4Communities in a positive manner
- Willingness to learn about mentoring and volunteering if not already knowledgeable about these subjects
- Able to display politeness and efficiency at all times

Assessor Consultant Required

Job Purpose
The Assessor role provides information, advice and support to individuals with any type of disability, of any age, and in any life situation, as well as to professionals and support organisations.
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver technical assessments. The role will deliver other services including, consultancy, training and personal installations as required.
Accountabilities
- Assess the needs of individual disabled children and adults in relation to technology and recommend appropriate hardware, software, devices and training needs. Assessments will be conducted in the workplace, AbilityNet centre, at home or educational establishment. Provide confidential reports with recommendations for individuals, medical, rehabilitation, educational, legal or other advisors. These assessments may use an escalated service model, therefore will include remote delivery of services.
- Provide consultancy services on practical and strategic steps to support implementation of assistive technologies in a variety of organisations
- Maintain a wide general knowledge of developments and products associated with technology and disability, and share this with other members of the team.
- Give information and advice on the use of assistive technologies by disabled people , to individuals, carers, professionals and organisations.
- Provide on-site technical support and/or training on equipment where required.
- Run seminars and training courses explaining and demonstrating the opportunities that accessible technologies can offer for disabled peopleWriting up of reports following assessment, training or consultancy appointments.
- Undertake any other project based work that is relevant to the role.
Candidate Knowledge
- Demonstrable Experience of assistive technologies and Window’s Accessibility features
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. ICT skills at least equivalent to ECDL
- Strong working knowledge of installing and using PC hardware and software,
- Ability to learn to use new hardware and software products
Candidate Skills:
- Ability to manage own workload and prioritise as required.
- Excellent communication skills with people across all life and work settings, regardless of age, ability or disability
- Excellent communication both face to face and by phone.
- Excellent written skills
- Need to demonstrate the ability to explain technical details to suit the needs of the client.
Person Specification:
- A proven track of delivering assessments for adults and children
- A proven track record in a similar assessment / consultant role is desirable
- Self motivated individual with interest in working with assistive technology
- Be available to travel within the UK / Europe including nights away from home
- Confident / Presentable individual who can represent AbilityNet in a positive manner to our clients
- Able to display calmness, patience and sensitivity under pressure
- Willingness to extend themselves beyond their normal duties when required to take on additional practical tasks or responsibilities
- Willingness to embrace changes in technologies and working practices
