Play AT ICT Loan Bank

The funding provided by the Roald Dahl Foundation enables us to loan equipment to organisations participating in the Play AT ICT project.  The equipment can be loaned on a 2 month basis and any equipment you borrow is FREE of charge and we arrange the FREE delivery and return of the equipment.

Here are some examples of the equipment we can loan to Play AT ICT participating organisations.

Alternative Mice

It can be difficult for some users to understand the concept of using a standard mouse and someone with a physical or cognitive difficulty can find them hard to control. We have a range of alternative devices available, for example Big Track Rollerball device.

Alternative Keyboards

It can be difficult for some users to access a standard computer keyboard.  We can loan compact keyboards, Big high visibility keyboard and lower case letter keyboards.

Camera

The Tuff- Cam provided in the loan bank is a “child friendly” digital camera

Communication Devices

Communicators enable individuals with no speech to have a voice. We have single message communicators and multiple message communicators.

Touchscreen Monitors

Touch Monitors can be really beneficial for children who have difficulty understanding the relationship between the movement of a mouse and the placement of the cursor on the screen.

Mounts

To ensure that the child is using the switch effectively, positioning is important. We have various mounts available.

Switches

Using switches with young children including children with physical and learning difficulties makes it easier for them to use either a battery operated toy or to use a computer.  There are various switches that are available.

Switch Adapted Toys

A positive way to introduce young children to understand what a switch does, is to connect it to a toy so when they press the switch the reward is that the toy works.
