New Year's Day Swim
19/12/2008
On New Year’s Day I will be plunging into the English Channel (average temperature 10 Celsius) for a New Years day swim to raise money for AbilityNet.
AbilityNet are a UK charity (Registered Charity No. 1067673) that helps disabled adults and children to use computers and the internet by adapting and adjusting their technology. This can dramatically improve the quality of life for people who would otherwise be unable to communicate with others, or contribute in the workplace - things that we often take for granted.
In my work as a Trustee of AbilityNet I am constantly amazed and humbled, by the incredible work they do and the difference they make to peoples’ lives.
I aim to raise £1,250 which will be used to assess the needs, and provide adaptive IT solutions, for 5 disabled people.
As I hate the cold this is a real challenge for me, so your sponsorship for this very worthy cause will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Jane
