Slowing down the double click speed of your mouse (Windows 95, 98, ME and 2000)
- Open the Start menu by clicking on the Start button or by pressing the Windows logo key (located between the Ctrl and Alt keys) - or Ctrl + Esc
- Click on Settings or press the letter S on the keyboard.
- Click on Control Panel or press the letter C on the keyboard.
- Double click on Mouse or press the M key repeatedly until Mouse is highlighted and then press Enter.
- The mouse properties page should be displayed (see fig. 1)
Fig 1 - If you are not already looking at the Buttons tab, either click on it or press Control + Tab until it is at the front.
- Double click on the picture of a folder where it says Test Area to set the double click speed. If the folder does not open or close you will need to slow down the double click speed of your mouse. Do this by clicking and dragging the slider towards slow, or press Alt + D and then use the left and right arrow keys to adjust the slider.
- Click OK or press Enter to confirm your choice and exit the mouse properties.
