Changing your colours in KDE
This section explains how you can change your colours in KDE
Instructions
1. Open the ' Navigation and application' menu by clicking on the ' K' menu button or by pressing the ' Windows ' logo key (located between the ' Ctrl ' + ' Alt ' keys on most keyboards).
2. Click on ' Control Center ' or press ' C ' + ' Enter'.
3. Click on ' Appearance' or use the ' Tab' key to highlight the left-hand panel (press it twice) and then use the ' down ' arrow key to select 'Appearance'.
4. Click on ' Colors ' or press the 'down' arrow and to select ' Colors ' and then press ' Enter' . The colours options will open on the right (see Fig 1).

5. The easiest way to change the colours is by using the ' Color scheme ' menu.
6. Click on a colour scheme or press ' Tab' to highlight the ' Color scheme' box and then use the ' up ' + ' down ' arrow keys to select an alternative colour scheme. There are 3 high contrast schemes ' Black on White ', ' White on Black ' and ' Blue and Yellow '.
7. Click on 'Apply' or ' Tab' to ' Apply ' and press ' Enter '; .
8. If you create or modify a colour scheme using the options under the ' Color scheme ' menu it can be saved with its own name if you click on the ' Save Scheme ' button or press ' Tab ' to highlight the button and then press ' Enter '.
9. Type in the name you want to save it as (see Fig 2) and click on the ' OK ' button or press ' Tab ' to highlight the ' OK ' button and then press ' Enter '.

10. Once you have saved the name for the scheme you will find it in the ' Colour scheme ' drop down menu.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help
