Free Parent Information Days
New dates announced
If your child has any problems using a computer because of learning, reading or writing difficulties or a disability, AbilityNet’s free parent information days can help.
AbilityNet has recently received funding to start offering our parent information days across the country.
Parent’s Information Days consist of short sessions with an AbilityNet consultant where you have the opportunity to try out some adaptive computer solutions with your child that will enable them to access the computer at home for leisure and homework activities.
The AbilityNet Consultants are able to advise ways in which you can take what your child is doing with technology at school and build upon this for leisure and learning at home. They can offer advice and answer specific questions, as well as suggest fun things you and your child can do together on the computer at home.
AbilityNet always start by focussing on those activities which are free or cheap, so you should come away with ideas which won’t break the bank.
If you are a parent of a child with a disability or special educational needs and would like to attand one of these events, please contact our advice and information service on 0800 269545 or enquiries@abilitynet.org.uk.
If there is no event planned in your area you can still contact us and ask to be put on the waiting list and to be informed of forthcoming events when they are arranged.
Can you provide a venue?
If you are a local organisation such as a school, local authority, parent group, library, resource centre etc and you would be able to provide an accessible venue and local interest in these events, we would love to hear from you. Please drop us a line on education@abilitynet.org.uk.
