Paying for your equipment
An employer is responsible for ensuring their employees have the appropriate tools for their job. If you already provide a computer with a standard keyboard and mouse, you may find that tuning this and adding some free or low cost software or hardware is all that is required.
To change to an ergonomic mouse could cost between £25 and £80. Many alternative keyboards are under £120.
This is usually well under the cost of a day off work, and simply makes good business sense.
The government can help with more expensive purchases. The scheme is called “Access to Work” and can be accessed through your local JobCentre Plus.
