They always say you never get anything for free. Well fortunately that’s not always true. In this section of the AbilityNet website we have collated many of the free resources together for you, including a collection of our own factsheets and skillsheets.
AbilityNet’s Factsheets and Skillsheets have been written by our specialist team of assessors and give detailed information on a wide range of assistive technology, services and organisations that can help you get the most out of IT.
Our Factsheets cover a range of subjects including assistive technology and approaches, services and organisation, which can help anyone who has a special IT requirement.
Our Skillsheets give a step by step guide to help you better configure your computer and software (assistive technology) to meet your individual requirements.

Please note that if you decide to download and install software that we have listed within the Shareware Link archive, that AbilityNet takes no responsibility for supporting it on your system. We have tested the software on our own machines and deemed it suitable for inclusion, but there is no way that we could guarantee that your computer is going to react in the same way. Consider creating a new ‘system restore point’ before installing new software. Use Windows Help in the start menu for more information, or navigate to it in the ‘All Programs/Accessories/System Tools’ menu.
