What we do
AbilityNet helps disabled adults and children use computers and the internet at home by offering a ‘one stop shop’ for assistive technology needs.
Put simply, there’s an enormous array of advice and it can be difficult to know where to go for specialist, impartial support every step of the way. That’s what AbilityNet exists to provide.
Support in the community
AbilityNet is working with community organisations across the country so that they can support your computer use with advice and information as well as being able to show you some specialist software and hardware.
We have links with centres in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Choose the area you want to find you nearest centre. Please call the centre you want to visit to find out what they can offer you.
Personal training
Specialist software training is often essential before you can get the full benefit. AbilityNet offers bespoke training covering Screen Readers, Voice Recognition, Literacy Aids and even gaming.
Complete, specially designed, computer systems
We can set up your computer, install the specialist software and check that it works with any specialist technology you may have selected. If you need further help we can arrange for a personal installation in your home, so all you need to do is turn the computer on. You can buy your system online from AbilityNet if you wish.
