Mobile Accessibility and Usability Services

Mobile Accessibility and Usability Services

Our consultants provide a range of accessibility and usability services for both mobile websites and applications (apps) for a variety of platforms, including iOS (Apple), RIM (Blackberry), Android (Google) and Windows OS (Microsoft).

Mobile Audits

With our expertise in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and Mobile Web Best Practices (MWBP) we can thoroughly audit any mobile website or application for accessibility issues. For each audit, we provide an in-depth report of all accessibility and usability issues and make recommendations for how to resolve issues.

We can audit websites and apps through all stages of development including wireframe, designs, code audits, and the live app or website.

Mobile Usability Reviews

In addition to an audit, we can also provide usability checks and recommendations of apps and mobile sites across multiple platforms and devices, for example iOS (Apple), RIM (Blackberry), Android (Google) and Windows OS (Microsoft).

Mobile User Testing

We can organise diverse mobile user testing with a range of users in a lab environment. In these sessions a user will test a site or app as they would in a real-life environment, on their own phones or on the devices we have in house. This will enable us to capture any accessibility and usability issues that real users face when using a mobile website or application.

We take a diverse and pan-disability approach to user testing, using testers with a wide range of disabilities, for example users who are blind or have impaired vision, users with learning difficulties and dyslexia, and those who have physical disabilities such as wheelchair users. We also use non-disabled users. Our approach gives the widest range of experiences and feedback for mobile sites and apps.

Assistive Technology Reviews

Our consultants can review apps and mobile sites using mobile assistive technology to identify any issues that users may face when using screen readers (such as VoiceOver on an iOS device), zoom and colour settings.

As an addition to our accessibility services for websites, we can also add in a mobile assistive technology review. This will ensure your website is accessible for both desktop and mobile users.
